We are your local library. Use us!
As a local resident there is no charge to join up and make the most of our resources. Children of any age may have their own library cards as long as they have an adult guarantor.

- Novels for every taste, paperback and hardback
- Board books for babies through to picture-books for teens
- Books with large print, for when the glasses aren't as strong as they were, and books on tape when even large print isn't large enough
- DVDs and Videos galore - classic movies, travel, sport, arts and crafts
- Magazines
- Jigsaw puzzles

Note: there are charges for new novels, DVDs, talking books (unless you are sight disabled), magazines and CD-ROMs. Everything else is free to borrow
Internet@the library
- We can help you set up your own personal email address.
- We'll help you learn to use the Internet so you can find that elusive fact
- Internet use is free in all Horowhenua libraries for the first half hour of use. There is a charge of $2.00 for each additional half hour.
- Ask us about having a password attached to your card so that you can request books or renew your issues from your home PC
Requests
- You can request any item from the Horowhenua Libraries collections. There is a $1 charge for reserving adult material, no charge for children's or teen items if you use your children's/teen library card.
- You can request an item from most other libraries in New Zealand. There is a minimum $5.00 charge for using this Interloan service. If the lending library makes a charge, our charge to you may be higher. (We will ask you before we incur any extra charges.)
Homelink
- If disability, illness or age makes it difficult for you to make your way to one of the district libraries, ask about Homelink. Our Homelink Librarian will select books for you.
- Volunteer couriers will deliver and pick up as often as you need.
